Technical Support for Integrating Environmental Practices in Hotel Operations

Mawael Environmental Consultancy provided technical assistance to integrate environmental sustainability practices into hotel operations across Egypt in collaboration with Environics/Chemonics and tourism sector stakeholders. The assignment assessed the feasibility of adopting internationally recognized environmental best practices within hotels and developed practical Environmental Sustainability Measures tailored to hotel operations. In addition, Mawael designed and delivered specialized training programmes, including Training of Trainers (ToT) sessions, for environmental professionals and selected hotel personnel to strengthen institutional capacity and promote long-term implementation. The project established a practical environmental management framework that combined sustainability planning, implementation support, and capacity building to improve environmental performance across Egypt’s tourism sector.
